Comedian Ryan Maher

Ryan Maher is a 24 year old ball of fire that is blazing through the Northeast comedy scene. He first got his "break" into the entertainment business by being a professional wrestling personality for 8 years on the independent circuit. He was trained by legendary World Wrestling Federation superstar Iron Mike Sharpe and at a very young age was working with top superstars in the professional wrestling business. The list of men and women that Ryan climbed in the ring with and stood side by side with are a whos who of wrestling from yesterday and today. Superstars such as: Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, The Iron Sheik, Honky Tonk Man, The Barbarian, Larry Zybysko, Captain Lou Albano, Fabulous Moolah, Mickie James, Cherry, Charlie Haas, Chris Candido, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Matt Striker and many more!!! Former WWF Tag Team Champion and hall of famer "Luscious" Johnny Valiant who is now a succesful comedian was the first person to try and convince Ryan to step into the comedy world and see what it had to offer. Ryan had heard this before but was not quite sure how to make the transition.

Ryan soon left the wrestling business and accepted a job as a train conductor. Ryan found out about a showcase for aspiring comedians from a passenger on his train where he could perform and get feed back from the audience as well as top professional comics. Each week there was a winner of that particular showcase and the more you won, the more stage time you got. In Ryan’s first 6 competitions he won an unprecedented 6 times in a row which landed him in the playoffs to crown the All star Champion. Ryan went on to win that very title and has not looked back since. Ryan turned pro and has gone on to perform along side legendary comedians such as: Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling and Dr. Dirty John Valby and top comedians of today such as: Jim Florentine, Robert Kelly, Patrice ONeal, Rev. Bob Levy, The Killers of Comedy from Howard Stern, Otto & George, Nick Dipaolo, Joe Matarese, Pete Michaels, Don Jamieson, Jay Black, and many more. Ryan has been heard on Sirius Satelite radio and he can be seen often at his home club Uncle Vinnies Comedy Club in Point Pleasant Beach.
